About the project

Flags, history & evidence.

FlagGeek is an independent vexillological research and archive project: a place to document flags and understand their histories.

A connected body of research

The project brings together individual flag records, original investigations and reference material. A flag entry can document one object or design; a research article can follow a question across many records. Resources and size data support both.

Evidence at the centre

The aim is to make sources, interpretation and uncertainty visible. Historical claims should be traceable. Illustrations should be distinguished from original objects. Unresolved questions should remain open until evidence supports an answer.

About this edition

This is the first FlagGeek 2.0 prototype. Its small collection, research essay and reference tables are sample material for reviewing the design and archive structure. They are not a replacement for verified historical research.

The existing FlagGeek website remains separate. No historical content has been migrated into this prototype.
